Military Museum IX Museum of military history is tasked to research, collect, inventory, display, propagate and introduce materials and objects reflecting the process of building, fighting and maturing of the armed forces. Southwest region - Military Region IX in the cause of national liberation struggle, unification of the country, construction and national defense. Since 1979, Can Tho Military Region IX Museum has been present for over 30 years but is still a worthwhile destination for all tourists to visit. The museum is like a vivid story about the life and fighting spirit of the Southwestern people during the resistance war against the French and the Americans. The museum was established on December 21, 1979, under the Political Bureau of Military Region IX. Through the collection displayed at the museum, visitors will see more clearly about the fighting spirit of resilience, the bravery as well as the priceless sacrifices that the people of the Southwest have devoted to the country. So far, these values are still remembered, becoming valuable assets for the next generations to continue to promote their national love with efforts to build the country in peacetime.
